Description
The study of incoming international airmail discussed in this book is the sequel to Foreign Incoming Mail to the United States 1844-1951, published by the Collectors Club of Chicago in 2024.
While certain aspects of incoming international airmail are well known — early trans-oceanic exploration flights, flights in support of the Allies during World War II that traversed long routes to reach the United States — the development of international air routes as regularly scheduled commercial travel routes for passengers, cargo and mail has not been explored in a systematic manner examining the routes employed by airlines traveling through foreign countries carrying mail to the United States. This book contains much information that the philatelic world has never seen while exploring this subject.
